This is a Static Perimeter. Kinetic Perimeter is used to detect the visual field range of a patient quickly, while the static Perimeter is mainly used for qualitative and quantitative detection of test points in the field of view. What is more needed in clinical applications is static visual field detection.
The Light source of this Perimeter is LED. Compared with Halogen light source, it is more stable and with a longer lifetime, during the whole lifetime of Perimeter, calibration, and replacement is not needed at all.
Visual field examination is not the most important method for diagnosing and monitoring retinal diseases. But retinal diseases like retinal detachment and retinal splits can cause visual field defects, and because these defects are usually located in the peripheral visual field, they can not be found in the conventional central visual field test. The maximum measurement range of this Perimeter is up to 90°, compared to another brand Perimeter which is with only a 30° measurement range, only our Perimeter is applicable for the above retinal disease test.
Driver license verification programs of International standards are included in this Perimeter, which are Esterman Binocular and Esterman Monocular.
